Pier is built to respect your privacy. Reading your ports, processes, and system stats happens entirely on your Mac and is never uploaded. The app connects to the network only to check for updates and to manage your license — nothing else.
Pier reads local system information (listening ports, running processes, CPU/memory/disk/network counters, and your Docker/Podman & Homebrew service status) entirely on-device. None of this information ever leaves your Mac. There is no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising, and no account inside the app.
Pier connects to the network in only two cases. (1) Update checks: Pier asks our server for the latest version file — you can turn automatic checks off in Preferences. As with any web request, our server may log standard metadata such as IP address, app version, and time, which we may use to estimate how many copies are installed and active. (2) Licensing: when you activate a license, and periodically afterward to keep it valid, Pier sends your license key and a device name to our payment provider. No other data is transmitted, and your monitoring data is never part of any of this.
Purchases and license management are handled by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments. When you buy, your payment and contact details are collected and processed by them under their own privacy policy — we never see or store your full payment information. This site is a static page. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookie-less, privacy-first counter that only gives us aggregate page views. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and builds no personal profile. The Pier app itself contains no analytics of any kind.
Pier keeps your monitoring data on your device, and we hold no account or personal profile, so there is generally little on our side to access, export, or delete. For data held by our payment provider, contact them or us and we'll help.
